Shower at Work for Baby Certain!

My coworkers gave me a beautiful shower today! We got SO many awesome gifts, I can't wait to get home and go through them all. I'm so excited and SO thankful! Thank you to all of my wonderful colleagues for such a sweet shower! There were about 25 people there and it meant so much that everyone took time out of their day to be downstairs to celebrate my baby. We had lunch and then the best part of all - desserts while I opened the fantastic gifts!! I'm honored and so thankful for what everyone did for us. THANK YOU THANK YOU!! It was perfect.

One More Month

We bought a Big Green Egg last weekend! We've had some amazing meals on it and cannot wait to have more people over to try it out. Matt has already perfected the art of being Big Green Egg Master. WE LOVE IT!

We also planted some flowers last weekend by our front door.

Me & my belly - doing what I do best these days!

On our TWO year anniversary!!

We are officially less than one month away from having our first baby! How exciting! Baby Certain is still breech, and has been for quite some time. Yes, there is still a small chance she/he will flip around, but since we're getting so close to the due date, our Doctor decided to go ahead & schedule a c-section.
I'm still feeling very well, just getting bigger by the second. Week 35. WOW!

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day I hope everyone has taken a moment to reflect on what today is all about, in the midst of a weekend that I hope has been full of awesome fun for everybody! God bless our troops and those who have served our country.

Week 34 has begun!!

Despite the fact that Matt had to work most of the weekend, we were able to squeeze in some fun and had a really nice time! Saturday we went to Damon & Katie's house for some bocce ball, sprite, beer (for the guys), and chips. And cookies. Thin Mints, to be exact! Katie & I are due almost exactly one month apart, and we always have so much fun comparing stories, asking each other questions, and just talking about how excited we are to be having our babies so close together. Both of us have waited to find out the gender until delivery day - so we often try to guess what we're having but both of us are clueless and agree that it's really fun not knowing! I am nine months, Katie is eight months, we have both thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant!!
Saturday night we all went to Pazole, yummmmy - and Sunday Matt played golf and I stayed home and went through all types of pregnancy books and magazines. This has seriously become my most favorite thing to do. After Matt got off work Monday, we relaxed at home and he made the most amazing dinner for us!! Boiled shrimp, crabcake burgers, grilled potatoes, baked beans, and homemade coleslaw. It was so delicious!

We missed being with our families, who were all at home on SSI, but we thought of you often....and can't wait to see each of you soon.
All in all, a really wonderful weekend and we hope yours was great too.

What I Like And What I Look Like....

...at eight months pregnant.

I've made a list of my Top 10 Favorite Things To Eat While Pregnant (in no particular order)...

BBQ Sauce (on anything - pork chops, french fries, macaroni & cheese, you name it, I'll drench it in BBQ sauce)

Peanut M&M's - wow. I eat these every single day! Our Office Manager has a constant supply of them on her desk for us, which I indulge in everyday around 2 pm. And then I always have to have a handful as I'm walking out for the drive home after work.

Green olives & pickles - sounds cliche, however, I don't eat these with ice cream. Just good old fashioned, standing in the kitchen devouring one jar at a time.

Sprite & Simply Limeade and Lemonade - I crave it!

Footlong Veggie Subs - with extra cheese. All the time. Followed by a chocolate chip cookie.

Bean Burritos - these were my favorite before pregnancy too, but now I eat more than one at a sitting. And the best part is, there is zero guilt now.

TCBY - vanilla chocolate swirl with Reese's. Or white chocolate mousse with caramel.

Peanut butter & jelly - Most of the time this is my breakfast after I eat a bowl of my cereal for breakfast. Daily!

Fruit - pineapple, melons, cantelopes, strawberries and grapes are the best these days!

Snickers - the king size version.

I could probably list a Top 20 Version - but I won't bore you. Or gross anyone out!
Pregnancy has been awesome - my body is doing what it was designed to do, and I just feel fortunate to have been this blessed. Everything I eat, and everything I do, is contributing to the well-being of our unborn baby. That is such an awesome realization and I have not taken one moment for granted! With only eight weeks left(give or take a few!), I'm counting my lucky stars that very soon I will be a Mom, and Matt will be a Dad, to a TRUE MIRACLE.

Week 31

On our way to church this morning.

We're in week 31! Baby is very active and full of kicks and punches, and I'm feeling every single one. He/She is doing well, great heartrate ranging from the 150-160's and still growing everyday. We're so thankful and excited. Now the kicks are visible from the outside when looking at my belly!

Tillin' in the Morning

We wanted to show everyone our efforts in completely renovating our lawn. Well, rather, Matt's efforts - he obviously did everything! He rented a tiller, got started early Saturday morning, and didn't stop until it was dark! I was exhausted just watching him from the couch - ha! Now he has fertilized the yard front & back, and in a month's time we hope & pray we will have a lawn full of lucious green grass. We planted fuscue - stay tuned.

Here we go-83 days til Due Date!

We are beginning the third trimester of this pregnancy, a fact I can hardly believe! It feels like just yesterday we were happily announcing our big news to our family & friends in November. Week 29 has begun today. Wow!

The very excited parents to be!

We are having a good time putting our home in order. Things are slowly but surely coming together which is making me so happy. I have never been in nesting mode as much as I am these days! We get to go pick up our crib today and I am just so excited to start really putting the nursery together for our baby! I even think I've found the perfect chair to put in there for my inevitable sleepless nights. This mom-to-be needs to be comfortable, at least! Matt has been working SO hard on our house - he has done such a great job and not complained even once. The paint in the bedroom & nursery look so awesome!! He now deserves a weeklong beach vacation. Next year, we hope!

We had our first dinner party Saturday night - a total of nine people were there. It was so much fun!

Some pics of the house

Everyone is so thougtfully asking how I'm doing and how I feel, and I can honestly say I am feeling really great. I have the occasional backaches of course, and my feet hurt at the end of the day, I have my moments of intense crying for absolutely no reason (who knew Desperate Housewifes would come back on tv and make me cry?!? But Gabby & Carlos were so cute last night!) and I'm really, really tired at the end of most days. But, all in all, I feel really good and have absolutely nothing to complain about. As the baby's big birthday approaches, everything becomes more and more real, the due date that was once so far off is now closer than ever and I can't wait. Nervous of course, but very excited to begin adding to our family.

These last weeks I have signed up for some pregnancy fitness classes, pregnancy pilates, yoga and the one I'm looking forward to the most - pregnancy water aerobics. I cannot wait to feel light in that pool! Our weekends are pretty much booked, we're going to try and go to a few Braves games in May, go see some movies, and I plan on sleeping a LOT. If my back will allow me that luxury!!

A long week of work...

What a week! This past week was one of my vacation weeks for the year, so we spent some time repainting the master bedroom in our new home. We didn't take pictures before painting, but I included the pictures from the real estate listing for comparison. The room was originally a light purple with white trim; we painted the room to a Gaucomole Green with a Winter White trim. As you can see, we also picked up an armoire from Craigslist for dirt cheap. Amazingly, it fit in the little area between the closets perfectly. Take a look below...

Baby, Baby, Baby

This morning was our 28 week ultrasound and we were both so looking forward to it! However, 8:30 AM proved to be a bit too early for our baby. Apparently this is naptime, and NO one and NO noise was going to wake this sweetpea up! After taking measurements and getting good results, (thank you Lord), she tried to poke around to wake him or her up, to no avail. So finally she got a buzzer out, and after a few seconds, we finally got our son or daughter to move around and they were able to do a few more of the necessary measurements. But unfortunately Baby C was in a bad position - Baby is breech right now, which is ok for now because there is still plenty of time for the darling to shift, and I am carrying LOW (which explains A LOT). So we were unable to really see much of anything because Baby C didn't want to cooperate! It was quite funny to be honest. He or she was being so shy - who on earth does this child take after!??Seriously, the legs were right in front of the face! Very funny and really cute, as I do think the personality is developing at this stage - wonder what was going through that precious brain?! We are so thankful though, because everything looked great!
