Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day I hope everyone has taken a moment to reflect on what today is all about, in the midst of a weekend that I hope has been full of awesome fun for everybody! God bless our troops and those who have served our country.

Week 34 has begun!!

Despite the fact that Matt had to work most of the weekend, we were able to squeeze in some fun and had a really nice time! Saturday we went to Damon & Katie's house for some bocce ball, sprite, beer (for the guys), and chips. And cookies. Thin Mints, to be exact! Katie & I are due almost exactly one month apart, and we always have so much fun comparing stories, asking each other questions, and just talking about how excited we are to be having our babies so close together. Both of us have waited to find out the gender until delivery day - so we often try to guess what we're having but both of us are clueless and agree that it's really fun not knowing! I am nine months, Katie is eight months, we have both thoroughly enjoyed being pregnant!!
Saturday night we all went to Pazole, yummmmy - and Sunday Matt played golf and I stayed home and went through all types of pregnancy books and magazines. This has seriously become my most favorite thing to do. After Matt got off work Monday, we relaxed at home and he made the most amazing dinner for us!! Boiled shrimp, crabcake burgers, grilled potatoes, baked beans, and homemade coleslaw. It was so delicious!

We missed being with our families, who were all at home on SSI, but we thought of you often....and can't wait to see each of you soon.
All in all, a really wonderful weekend and we hope yours was great too.

What I Like And What I Look Like....

...at eight months pregnant.

I've made a list of my Top 10 Favorite Things To Eat While Pregnant (in no particular order)...

BBQ Sauce (on anything - pork chops, french fries, macaroni & cheese, you name it, I'll drench it in BBQ sauce)

Peanut M&M's - wow. I eat these every single day! Our Office Manager has a constant supply of them on her desk for us, which I indulge in everyday around 2 pm. And then I always have to have a handful as I'm walking out for the drive home after work.

Green olives & pickles - sounds cliche, however, I don't eat these with ice cream. Just good old fashioned, standing in the kitchen devouring one jar at a time.

Sprite & Simply Limeade and Lemonade - I crave it!

Footlong Veggie Subs - with extra cheese. All the time. Followed by a chocolate chip cookie.

Bean Burritos - these were my favorite before pregnancy too, but now I eat more than one at a sitting. And the best part is, there is zero guilt now.

TCBY - vanilla chocolate swirl with Reese's. Or white chocolate mousse with caramel.

Peanut butter & jelly - Most of the time this is my breakfast after I eat a bowl of my cereal for breakfast. Daily!

Fruit - pineapple, melons, cantelopes, strawberries and grapes are the best these days!

Snickers - the king size version.

I could probably list a Top 20 Version - but I won't bore you. Or gross anyone out!
Pregnancy has been awesome - my body is doing what it was designed to do, and I just feel fortunate to have been this blessed. Everything I eat, and everything I do, is contributing to the well-being of our unborn baby. That is such an awesome realization and I have not taken one moment for granted! With only eight weeks left(give or take a few!), I'm counting my lucky stars that very soon I will be a Mom, and Matt will be a Dad, to a TRUE MIRACLE.

Week 31

On our way to church this morning.

We're in week 31! Baby is very active and full of kicks and punches, and I'm feeling every single one. He/She is doing well, great heartrate ranging from the 150-160's and still growing everyday. We're so thankful and excited. Now the kicks are visible from the outside when looking at my belly!

Tillin' in the Morning

We wanted to show everyone our efforts in completely renovating our lawn. Well, rather, Matt's efforts - he obviously did everything! He rented a tiller, got started early Saturday morning, and didn't stop until it was dark! I was exhausted just watching him from the couch - ha! Now he has fertilized the yard front & back, and in a month's time we hope & pray we will have a lawn full of lucious green grass. We planted fuscue - stay tuned.
