Best part of my Day

On Twitter, a lot of people I follow include one tweet per day that is their "favorite part of today" - so I've decided to keep a journal of my favorite part of my days so my girls can read one day and know how the simplest little pleasures made their mom happy.

I won't always post on the blog, but if it's something I want to share, I will definitely do so.
Saturday:
Watching Libby stick her hands in the stingray pool at the aquarium and giggle when she saw Princess Presto, Wyatt, and Curious George.
Holding Margaret in the baby bjorn while we walked around the aquarium and she slept the whole time, but when she woke up, she noticed the big whales and smiled.

Saturday Night:
Rocking both of my daughters simultaneously in the rocking chair while they both listened to me hum "You are my Sunshine and Jesus Loves Me" and quickly fell asleep after a long day.

Sunday:
Chasing Libby in the front yard with Margaret while Matt watched in the grass and we were just a family.

I think my Favorite Parts of the day will really make me slow down and take the time to realize that the memories are being made every single moment of every single day.

The Aquarium

Saturday we took the girls to the Aquarium.  It was their first time - and we have annual passes so we can now go whenever we want.  We encourage all of our SSI friends to come on up and go with us!  It was really fun - although, Libby would have been just as happy sitting at home talking about the aquarium, I just don't think she really "got" it, yet, and we do think it was overload for M's little mind.  Ha, but we did have a great time. I was so excited to go!  Super Why and Curious George were both there, so Libby LOVED having her pic taken with the characters.  She wasn't scared a bit which did surprise me a little bit!  She held their hands and shook Princess Presto's hand and said "Nice to meet you" - no joke!

Libby's new thing is to lay on the ground whenever she's done with something. For example, I was holding her hand and she just got tired so she stopped and laid down on the ground.  Didn't kick or cry, just stopped and laid down.  It is so funny. Once she did that a few times, we figured it was time to leave.  We stayed for about three hours she fell asleep in Matt's arms on the way to the car.

Can't wait to go for our second visit.

Highlights - Libby loved the sting rays. She was not scared for one second and put her hands in the water with Matt, adorable!
Margaret falls asleep immediately upon getting in the Baby Bjorn.  It's instant.

The Girls

Libby being Libby on her bed one afternoon, this really captures her sweet playful personality.

Love this picture, it's blown up in her room in a huge 18x23 frame.  LOVE IT.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!!

Sisters hugging after a party we went to for Matt's work.  They had matching fancy pants on under their dresses!

Laughing so loud, love her belly laughs!  She gets so tickled when she makes noises so we all end up laughing more!

Hey Mommy

A little slobber never hurt anyone, we think she's teething.

This is how Margaret watches Libby - very curious and also a little perplexed

Happy Friday!

August has been a really fast month - wow, it's almost September!  I can't believe it's been a year almost since we found out we were expecting our second little miracle baby.  This has been quite a year!

Updates on the girls:

Libby - speaking in sentences and understands what we're saying now, ALL the time.  We are watching everything we say. Let's just say we spell alot now. I never understood why Jen always spelled things, but now I get it.  She's doing well in school.  She still has a hard time with the nap, and she still misses "mama" alot, but overall she's thriving.  Love Friday's, for many reasons, but on Friday's we get all the projects they worked on during the week.  And I love that on Friday's they have fruit and go to the Library at the church.  So sweet.

Margaret - rolling over and laughing like a big girl!  She is just so sweet.  I don't know how else to describe her.  Very laid back, goes with the flow.  Very used to her loud big sister now!  Margaret is still sleeping like a perfect child, something I'm not used to when Lib was a baby.  :) Matt and I thought all babies stayed up til midnight.  So funny.  Margaret is also really in love with Libby.  You should see the adoration in her eyes.  Every night after dinner we play outside in the front yard. Libby plays with her soccer ball and Margaret has begun "chasing" it - which means I'm holding M and we run around chasing Libby, who in turn, falls to the ground laughing. We got our first BIG belly laugh from Margaret on August 23.  I CRIED it was so sweet!  Libby even noticed it and said, "mama sissy girl laughed" - that's what Lib calls her, Sissy Girl.

We are planning our Disney vacation for January.  That is going to be so much fun.  Matt is running in the Disney Marathon and we are going to stay for several days to enjoy the Magic Kingdom.  Yay! I am so excited it's hard to contain myself.

Tomorrow is our trip to the Aquarium.  Curious George and SuperWhy will be there! Pics shall follow tomorrow evening!  Yay! Happy Happy Friday!

this was taken just the other morning in our bed - m loves her miracle blanket but somehow got her arm out.  libby was cuddling with her.  enough to make this mama cry. i am so proud of my two girls and so thankful every single day for them both.  and this made matt and i laugh too b/c libby sleeps with her arms up just like margaret is here.  i am obsessed.  love you all.
